Area of Interest

Dr. Chapman-Novakofski's research interests lie primarily with community nutrition. Her research topic focuses on identifying and changing the food habits of groups of people and individuals, primarily older people. Using behavioral theories, her interventions have included reducing cardiovascular disease risk, improving the eating habits of those with diabetes, as well as identifying modifiable beliefs older women have about diet, lifestyle and osteoporosis. Recently she has also investigated the role that taste perception has on the food preference of older men and women.
