Area of Interest Dr
Armstrong works in the areas of aging studies and disability studies. Her research
interests include the social contexts of aging and disability in comparative perspective,
social epidemiology of cancer, and cultural competence in research and practice.
Her research uses study populations in the US, Malaysia, and New Zealand. Ongoing
projects involve cross-ethnic research of social aging and focus on social support
